Erik Lloyd Dorset
Violin
The violinist Erik Lloyd Dorset has been a member of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin since 1995. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio, after which he moved to Basel to study Baroque violin with Jaap Schröder and Thomas Hengelbrock. Further studies took him to The Hague, where he studied with Sigiswald Kuijken and Ryo Terakado.
In addition, Erik Dorset works as an editor and translator for exhibitions and CD labels. In 2020, his translation of the anthology Das Konzert was published by Routledge under the title Classical Concert Studies – A Companion to Contemporary Research and Performance.
