Yves Ytier
Violin
Yves Ytier, born in Santiago de Chile, has been living and working in Germany since 2011. He initially studied violin at the Universidad Católica de Chile and later at the Universität der Künste Berlin. Since 2014, he has focused on historically informed performance, completing a master’s degree in Baroque violin at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and an advanced program at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.
He regularly performs as concertmaster and principal player with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, as well as with other renowned early music ensembles such as the International Bach Academy Stuttgart, Concerto Köln, Cappella Mediterranea, the Millenium Orchestra, and Capella Jenensis, among others.
In addition, Yves Ytier completed studies in contemporary dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts and performed at the Trier City Theatre in 2015 and 2016. He is a choreographer and dancer with the ensembles uBu and Ensemble Europa Danzante, creating his own works that focus on the relationship between music, sound, and movement.
