Together with Isabelle Faust, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin - including Bernhard Forck and Xenia Löffler as additional soloists - has explored a great variety of Bach’s works, all of which reveal themselves as direct or indirect relatives of the three major violin concertos BWV 1041–1043. For the Thomaskantor and master of The Well-Tempered Clavier was also a virtuoso violinist.
