Our first CD featuring Handel’s Concerti Grossi Op. 6

The release on the Pentatone label marks another step toward our Handel Trilogy, which encompasses recordings of the Concerti Grossi Op. 6 and Op. 3 across a total of three CDs.

Originally conceived as attractive interludes for his English oratorios, Handel’s concerti today rank among the core repertoire of Baroque orchestral music. Brimming with melodic freshness and elegance, these works fascinate through the boundless creativity with which the composer adapted this highly successful Italian genre.
