With this new album, a complete recording of the symphonies of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach is brought to a close — a project to which the members of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin have devoted themselves for more than twenty years. The final installment reveals the quintessence of his art and shows the full originality of Johann Sebastian Bach’s brilliant son, who, with his urge for freedom and his inventive spirit, paved the way for Haydn and Mozart.
For this recording, the new Akamus concertmaster Mayumi Hirasaki assumed the leadership from the first violin desk for the first time, alternating with Akamus concertmaster Georg Kallweit.
