Our second CD featuring Handel’s Concerti Grossi Op. 6

The release on the Pentatone label marks another milestone on the way to our Handel Trilogy, which comprises recordings of the Concerti Grossi Op. 6 and Op. 3 across a total of three CDs.

Originally conceived as attractive interludes for his English oratorios, Handel’s concerti have today become core repertoire of Baroque orchestral music. Brimming with melodic freshness and elegance, these works captivate through the sheer creative energy with which the composer adapted this highly successful Italian genre.
