Annette Geiger
Viola
Annette Geiger studied in Munich with Hariolf Schlichtig and Kim Kashkashian, as well as at the Salzburg Mozarteum with Thomas Riebl. She participated in masterclasses with Tabea Zimmermann and Vladimir Mendelssohn, and with Sándor Végh at the International Chamber Music Seminars Prussia Cove in England.
She performed with the European Community Chamber Orchestra and Camerata Salzburg, and is a founding member of the Kammerakademie Potsdam. As a member of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, she has focused intensively on historical performance practice for many years. Thus, she regularly performs with Collegium Vocale Gent under Philippe Herreweghe and the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble under Thomas Hengelbrock.
Another key aspect of her work is chamber music, to which she dedicates herself in Ensemble 1800 and as violist of the Cornelis Quartet.
